Forest's London Action Plan 2025
We launched our e-bike service with 200 vehicles in Islington in 2021, with a simple ambition to make cycling truly accessible and affordable for everyone in our city. Forest’s unique and industry-first pricing model gives each of our users 10 minutes of free riding every day, breaking the mould for the industry, lowering barriers to access for our one million users, many of whom would not have had the funds or inclination to purchase, store, maintain and secure their own bike.
This model has been brilliantly successful. Since we started, we’ve given away over 50 million minutes, saving our users almost £11 million, and seen rides increasing with double or triple the monthly rides from 2023 to 2024.
However, we will not allow for growth at any cost. We have a steadfast commitment to the communities we operate in, particularly those who are most vulnerable and we welcome the Government's work on future regulation that we hope will set industry-wide standards and ensure responsible operations. This is why we have developed a London Action Plan for 2025, informed by the work we do with our 14 London borough partners, as well as bodies including Transport for London and London Councils, and outlines a set of commitments across a range of business areas including operations, technology and marketing. We look forward to continuing our work with local councils, Forest riders and all Londoners, to develop a scheme that works for everyone.
